The Food Choice Simulator

The Food Choice Simulator (FCS) is a novel method for measuring shopping behavior in an interactive virtual shop. The FCS can measure attention, arousal, emotional responses, and products viewed, by using facial expression recognition, gaze tracking, brain activation and physiological reactions. This combination of different measures, allows for an automatic assessment of a consumer’s attitude towards products.

The FCS is suitable for a number of different tests, such as product packaging, shelf positioning of products and the influence of pricing and advertisement on product purchase.
